The Augusta

Queen bed on the top floor, shared bathroom with original tub

The Augusta is named after our great-grandmother, who journeyed from Sweden to build a life in Michigan, personifying legacy and adventure with an astonishing sunset that lights up the petit room through its large window.

The queen bed is dressed in crisp white linens and crowned with a velvet navy quilt under a carefully curated gallery wall where vintage photographs mingle with colorful artwork, each piece telling its own quiet story. The window treatment, with charming animals and whimsical prints, connects you not only to the bucolic landscape but also your inner child. The antique writing desk holds the room’s most treasured tale. After three decades of patiently waiting in a garden shed, this remarkable piece, with its maze of tiny drawers and secret compartments, found its way home. The space carries forward the magic of childhood wonder, family memory, and new horizons.
