The Cassie

Full bed on the top floor, shared bathroom with original tub

The smallest room, the Cassie, is named for our great-grandmother. Just like the space, we hear she was petite but filled with life, holding a maternal warmth.

Once a forgotten storage room, this bedroom is now a cocoon of comfort, nestled under the original roofline. The full bed is layered in a hand-stitched quilt brought back from India. Its soft hues dance against the blue walls. A simple wood dresser and woven chair nod to craft and comfort; walls are adorned with small framed memories and landscapes that give the space a collected, personal feel, like a life well-lived. Across the hall, a wall of photographs from around the globe, taken by our father. Perched at the top of the stairs, The Cassie is a perfect place from which to call down goodnight to the house, just before everyone is tucked into bed.
